Construction Phase
Nursery Washrooms
Before this PlanH20 Nursery washroom was built, almost 50 nursery kids all under the age of five were using buckets as washroom facilities. The facility is equipped with showering area also and a soak away, to ensure sustainability of the facility.
The kids now have a safe and private washroom area. With a strong roofing structure so that the facility can be used and is protected in all weather conditions.
Overall is a cost effective project and sustainable facility that we hope to construct in schools across rural Ghana. We believe that all children should have the appropriate washroom facilities within school, making it a more enjoyable learning environment for them each day.

Borehole and Hand Wash Unit
Sunbeam School is the first school in the community to have its very own water system that purifies water, providing clean and safe flowing drinking water. Through the construction of a borehole attached with a fully equipped osmosis filtration system, the water is treated and purified allowing safe drinking water to serve the entire school.
This project now provides clean water to over 300 kids, where it’s used for drinking, bathing, cooking and sanitation purposes. We also were able to successfully construct two hand washing units to further the sanitation within the school and decrease the spread of disease and overall improve the hygiene in the school. The hand washing units were specifically designed, one larger unit and one smaller unit customised for the nursery kids.
